FESTIVAL OF CORDELIAS PROJECT FROM URBANTHEATER COMPANY
We Are Seeking LATINA/O WRITERS!!
In response to media uproar, audience response and an impassioned FACEBOOK DEBATE - FB Cordelia Debate over Jose’s writing and UTC’s depiction, of an expletive, tell-it-like-it-is Puerto Rican mother of 16 children in Sonnets for an Old Century; UTC is currently seeking Sonnet/Monologue submissions for a new theatrical performance piece, which will be developed by Mr. Rivera and UTC.
This new theatrical work, tentatively titled ‘Festival of Cordelia’s‘ will be workshopped/produced in an upcoming season by UTC with writing assistance from Mr. Rivera. Steppenwolf Theatre Company will also be a part of the process/discussion. Writers interested in submitting an original Sonnet/Monologue for consideration in ‘Festival of Cordelia’s‘ should submit an inquiry of interest to UTC Co-Artistic Director, Marilyn Camacho at marilyncamacho@urbantheaterchicago.org Guidelines and the original “Cordelia” Sonnet will be forwarded.
